Tell Congress: Black mothers need paid family leave now

Join us in letting Congress know: Expanding access to paid leave should be a key priority in the mission to improve outcomes for Black mothers.

Right now, 70 percent of Black mothers don’t have access to any type of paid family leave, despite 80 percent being main breadwinners in their households. That means huge financial pressure and little support for Black mothers as they grow their families.

These disparities subject them to higher risk for serious health complications post-birth AND less time to bond with their new baby. Comprehensive paid leave can help bridge those pains by ensuring that Black mothers receive meaningful support outside the delivery room.

We know that Congress has the power to reshape outcomes for Black mothers, so join us by writing your representative today!
